Girls Preparatory School got three goals from Sydney Morris in a second-half eruption and defeated Brentwood Academy 4-2 in a TSSAA Division II-AA soccer quarterfinal Saturday.

That puts the Bruisers in the state final four along with Baylor, with GPS (11-5-2) facing Briarcrest Christian on Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT in Murfreesboro. Meg Priest had the first-half goal on a direct kick Saturday, when Lane Lawrence, Leila von Kessler and Myra Brock assisted on the Morris goals.

Also advancing to Murfreesboro on Saturday were Chattanooga Christian in Division II-A, East Hamilton in Division I Class AA and Signal Mountain in Class A. East Hamilton won 3-1 over Stone Memorial and Signal romped 6-0 past East Robertson in state sectionals.

CCS edged University School of Nashville 2-1 in a quarterfinal with two second-half goals from Olivia Hoffman. Lillie Cate and Sarah O'Shea had assists for the Lady Chargers (20-1-2), who outshot USN 16-9.

Arielle Fortune, Gabby Larson and Julia Kaset scored and Kaset also had an assist for East Hamilton (16-3-1), which had a 14-2 advantage in shots over the Crossville school.

Camilla Mincey netted four goals and Jessica Agan and Kennedy Ethridge also scored for Signal Mountain (11-5-1), and Ethridge had an assist as well. Natasha Kohl contributed two assists and Avery Engels had one for the Lady Eagles, while Amanda Muschel was credited with five saves in the shutout. They play again Wednesday.

Despite 21 saves by Lauren Teal, Notre Dame fell 4-0 to Christ Presbyterian in another Division II-A quarterfinal. Such was the CPA offensive pressure that one of the scores was an own goal, but Caroline Betz scored twice. Notre Dame wound up 8-9-1 for the season, and Teal totaled 318 saves with 10 shutouts.
