The Minnesota Twins announced Friday afternoon that Doug Mientkiewicz will manage the 2015 Chattanooga Lookouts.

Chad Allen will be the Lookouts' hitting coach and Stu Cliburn will be the pitching coach.

This will be Mientkiewicz's first season managing at the Class AA level. He has spent the last two seasons at high Single-A Fort Myers and this past summer led the Miracle to their first Florida State League Championship in franchise history.

Mientkiewicz appeared in 1,087 big-league games from 1998 to 2009 and spent time with seven organizations, including the Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers. He hit .306 with the 2001 Twins and .300 with the 2003 Twins.

The former infielder won a World Series title with the Red Sox in 2004 and finished his career batting .271 with 66 home runs and 405 RBIs.

Allen was a Minnesota teammate of Mientkiewicz from 1999 to 2001. Cliburn has been with the Twins for 24 years and has spent 14 of those coaching at the Double-A level.
