Chattanooga Lookouts pitchers Madison Boer, Cole Johnson and D.J. Johnson allowed only one hit apiece and Max Kepler and Jorge Polanco combined for five hits and three runs scored in a 4-0 win that followed a 3-2 loss to the Barons in Tuesday's Southern League doubleheader at Birmingham.

Joey DeMichele's home run to right-center field off Zack Jones in the bottom of the eighth propelled Birmingham to victory in the first scheduled seven-inning game. Chattanooga (19-13) had tied it in the seventh when Adam Walker led off with a single to center, Kepler doubled to left field and a Heiker Meneses groundout plated Walker.

The second game was scoreless until Polanco doubled to lead off the fourth inning and scored on a throwing error after Miguel Sano's flyout to center field. Polanco singled with one out in the sixth, stole second base, took third on a throwing error and scored on a wild pitch.

The Lookouts doubled their margin again without an RBI in the seventh, when Walker walked with one out, Kepler singled him to third and stole second and both scored when Byron Buxton reached base on pitcher Kyle Hansen's throwing error.

Game four of the six-game series in Birmingham is today at noon. Jose Berrios (3-1, 3.25 ERA), who leads the Southern League with 45 strikeouts, is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts; Miles Jaye (2-1, 3.17) is scheduled for the Barons.
