Lookouts rout Jackson behind Hurlbut, 8-2

Chattanooga starting pitcher David Hurlbut allowed two runs in seven innings and received plenty of support as the Lookouts thumped Jackson 8-2 Friday night before an announced crowd of 3,268 at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts collected 14 hits, with Stuart Turner going 3-for-4, Shannon Wilkerson 3-for-5 and Niko Goodrum and Heiker Meneses each 2-for-4. Chattanooga's only extra-base hit occurred in the fourth inning, when Adam Walker's double to left field scored Jorge Polanco to give the Lookouts a 5-2 lead.

Chattanooga improved to 75-59 overall and 32-34 in the Southern League's second half with three games remaining in the regular season. The Lookouts will play tonight at 7:15, Sunday night at 6:15 and Monday afternoon at 2:15.
