Lookouts fall 6-2 to Montgomery

The Chattanooga Lookouts' game Thursday night started late because of bad weather, and the outlook never got favorable for the home team.

Montgomery scored a run in the top of the first inning and led the rest of the way in a 6-2 Southern League victory at AT&T Field for the Biscuits, who are 29-23 in the second half and second to the Jackson Generals in the North Division. Chattanooga is in third place at 27-25.

Each team had just five hits Thursday, but Biscuits leadoff batter Kean Wong walked twice in addition to his double and batted in three runs. Lookouts counterpart Zach Granite had both RBIs for his team.

Wong led off the game with a walk off Aaron Siegers (9-7) but was forced at second on a grounder by Cade Gotta, who stole second and third bases and scored on a sacrifice fly by Willy Adames. Gotta reached base on an error in the third and moved around when Adames was hit by a pitch and Jake Bauers lined an RBI single.

The Lookouts cut the 2-0 margin in half in the bottom of the third, when Tanner Witt singled, Engelb Vielma walked and Granite hit a sacrifice fly.

The Biscuits made it 4-1 in the fourth as Justin Williams walked, Armando Araiza was hit by a pitch and Wong doubled them home after a sacrifice bunt.

The teams play again tonight at 7:15 with fireworks scheduled afterward.
