Lookouts end season's first half with loss

Sunday's recap: Chattanooga starting pitcher Kohl Stewart allowed eight hits and five runs before being pulled in the fifth inning as the Lookouts (36-34) dropped their final game of the first half of the Southern League's 2016 season. The Lookouts took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Zack Granite singled to left field and scored on a Daniel Palka sacrifice to left, but Montgomery scored the game's next five runs. Jake Bauers and Mike Marjama had doubles in the third inning to help the Biscuits take a 3-1 lead, and it was 5-1 in the sixth when Travis Harrison's infield hit was followed by Mitch Garver's two-run home run to left that pulled Chattanooga within two but capped the scoring.

Next up: The Southern League All-Star Game will take place Tuesday night in Mississippi, with Chattanooga's second-half opener against Jackson at AT&T Field set for Thursday night at 7:15.
