Lookouts hit lightly, still win

LOOKOUTS 4, BAYBEARS 1

Thursday's recap: The Lookouts fell far short of the 16 hits they produced in Wednesday's series opener, but the three they got proved to be enough. After each team scored in the first inning, Chattanooga (63-34) went ahead in the second when Ryan Walker hit a two-out solo home run, his third homer of the season. The Lookouts added the final two runs in the fifth on LaMonte Wade's bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly by Jonathan Rodriguez. After giving up the first-inning run, winning pitcher Kohl Stewart (4-4) threw four scoreless innings and one hit overall while walking four and striking out three. Randy Rosario, Paul Clemens and Luke Bard wrapped up on the mound, with Bard picking up his fifth save.

Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Mobile is tonight at 8:05 EDT.

Pitchers: Dereck Rodriguez (3-1, 3.41) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Tyler Carpenter (1-4, 5.23) scheduled for the BayBears.
