Lookouts still searching for winning streak

JUMBO SHRIMP 5, LOOKOUTS 2

Sunday's road recap: The Chattanooga Lookouts played the final 13 games of the Southern League's first half without winning consecutive contests, and they've played the first 17 games of the second half without a two-win streak as well. Jacksonville scored four runs with two out in the second inning to take control, leaving Chattanooga 5-12 in the second half and 41-45 overall. The second-inning surge for the Jumbo Shrimp began when Lookouts starting pitcher Omar Bencomo hit Rodrigo Vigil with a pitch and then walked Brian Schales to load the bases. A throwing error by new Chattanooga shortstop Taylor Motter allowed two runs to score, and Monte Harrison hit a two-run single to make it 4-0. The Lookouts got on the board when Zander Wiel opened the fourth inning with a home run to left-center field.

Next up: Game two of a four-game series at Jacksonville is tonight at 7:05.
