A shorthanded Chattanooga Football Club women's team saw its five-game winning streak to start the season come to a close Sunday with a 4-0 road loss to the Memphis Lobos. CFC's next match is at 7 p.m. Thursday against the Emerald Force Soccer Club at the Sansom Sports Complex in Knoxville. With 15 points in the standings and season sweeps of the Nashville Rhythm and Peachtree City MOBA, CFC still controls its destiny in the playoff hunt with two regular-season matches remaining - a win Thursday or July 1 at home against the Lobos would clinch the conference championship. A number of CFC players, including standout sisters Anna and Summer Lanter, missed Sunday's match for various reasons. CFC's worst performance of the season was met by one of the best for the Lobos, who lost 2-1 to Nashville on Saturday. Memphis was up 2-0 at halftime, taking the lead in the first minute when CFC goalkeeper Cosette Morche' mishandled a shot and adding another goal in the 28th minute. The Lobos scored again in the 64th and 77th minutes. Memphis - the only other team in the conference that can earn a share of the title -is 3-3 and has nine points in the standings. Peachtree City and Nashville are both 2-3-1 with seven points apiece, while Emerald Force is 2-4 with six points.

Harrison's Jacob Wheeler finished fifth and Spring City's Wesley Strader was 12th Sunday in the Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on the Mississippi River out of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Wheeler's daily limit of five fish weighed 16 pounds, 10 ounces for a four-day total of 62-3 worth $14,000. Strader's numbers were 13-7, 58-6 and $10,500. Ish Monroe of Hughson, California, was first at 65-7 overall and won $101,000.
