Andres Fleitas, who played for the Chattanooga Lookouts in 1948-51 and had a brief major league career as a catcher, died Sunday night in Miami at the age of 95. Fleitas, whose brother Angel was a shortstop with the Washington Senators in 1948, played in 368 games for the Lookouts. He is in the Cuban Hall of Fame.

- SAN JUAN, P.R. -- The Lee University women's basketball team opened its Puerto Rico series with a 55-48 win Tuesday against UPR Rio Piedras Jerezanas. Hollie German and Angela Spann scored 15 and 13 points to lead the Lady Flames (10-1), who face Puerto Rico-Bayamon this afternoon. German also led with six rebounds and three assists.
