Lookouts edge Biscuits, 6-5

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Chattanooga relief pitcher Javy Guerra gave up a one-out home run to Matthew Sweeney in the ninth inning but retired the next two Montgomery batters to preserve the Lookouts' third straight Southern League baseball win Monday night, 6-5.

The Lookouts (17-14) broke a 4-4 tie with two runs in the seventh, benefiting from a Marquis Fleming throwing error that allowed Ivan Ochoa to score.

The Lookouts opened the game with an Elian Herrera infield hit and an Alfredo Silverio home run to center field. Chattanooga went back up 4-2 in the third inning on an RBI single to left by Scott Van Slyke and an RBI double to left by Pedro Baez.

Game two of the five-game series starts this morning at 11:35 EDT. Rubby De La Rosa (2-1, 4.63 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Matt Moore (2-2, 4.60) scheduled for the Biscuits.
