Edna Conaway

ROSSVILLE Edna Irene Conaway, 97, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010.She was born in Ringgold, Ga., on Aug. 18, 1913, to the late Rachael and Glen Peters and was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, traveling and playing checkers with her grandchildren.She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, James and Ira Peters; two sisters, Vera and Thelma Davis; and stepmother, Ellen Peters.Survivors include her loving husband of more than 63 years, Daniel Conaway; daughter, Denise Terry both of Rossville; two sisters, Ellie Pitts and Lula Petty, both of Ringgold, Ga.; two grandchildren, Kristin (Juan) Bloodworth and Shannon Baker; two great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Baker and Avery Bloodworth; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Clyde Painter and Rev. Randy Chesnutt officiating.Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.The family will begin receiving friends after 4 p.m. today and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
