Edward Lockwood

Captain Edward William Lockwood passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at his residence.Ed was born Feb. 21, 1934 to Charles Lockwood and Florence Scofield in Darien, Conn.He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lockwood; sons, James, Lee, Gerald, Edward Jr.; and daughters, Margaret and Donna.Edward served his country in Korea with the Army as an aircraft mechanic and later as a member of the elite Ranger division. Edward had many skills which molded his personality and character. He was an accomplished marksman with regional and national recognition, amateur car builder and racer, sailor and as noted by most of his crew members a top shelf captain. His career as a pilot and captain for American Airlines spanned over 45 years with two words ever present in his extensive vocabulary; Pride and Precision. Dward left this world to fly high with the Angels as he did in life. We would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts everyone who has been with us throughout our loss. He will be very missed by his family and friends. May your sails always be full and wings always have lift to take you on your next journey.
