Ella Gardner

Ella Mae Gardner, 94, of Chattanooga, died Monday Jan. 24, 2011, at the Stratford House Consulate Health Care.She was born Nov. 5, 1916 in Lancaster, K., the daughter of the late Ancil and Debbie Ann Meaders Meadows. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gardner; a son, James Edwin Gardner; sister, Elsie Meadows; brothers, Kelly Meadows, Emmett Meadows, and Earl Meadows.She was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 95.Survivors include daughters Marsha G. (David) Loggins, of Snellville, Ga., and Sheri G. (Gordon) Jones, of Hixson; sister, Edith Hinkle, of Nashville; brother, Paul (Anna) Meadows, of Lancaster, Ky.; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be noon Thursday in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N.
