Louis Brannan

James Louis Brannan, loving husband, father and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011.He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a graduate of Central High School.Mr. Brannan was retired from Tennessee Army National Guard after 40 years of service. He held the rank of Command Sargent Major with the 30th Field Artillery Brigade. He was an active member of Northminister Presbyterian Church.Mr. Brannan was the owner of Brannan Insurance and a member of Professional Insurance Association of Tennessee and Chattanooga. He was also a member of Waconda Bay Marina Association.He was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Odell Brannan; sister, Polly Goodner Schendel; and nephew, Gary Goodner.Survivors include his wife, Nancy N. Brannan; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Cindy Brannan, Scott and Tonja Brannan, Mark and Rita Brannan, Vince and Melanie Brannan and Steven Brannan; grandchildren, Bonnie and Ben Parker, Wes Brannan, Autumn and Meghan Brannan, Haley Brannan, Benjamin and Patti Grace Brannan; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is family in Winchester, Tennessee and Mississippi.Services will be held 1 p.m. today, Jan. 26, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev.
