E.F. Portwood, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011, at home.He was the son of the late Alvin F. Portwood and Barbara S. Portwood and was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel H. Portwood.E.F. worked at Southern Railway as an electrician, and retired after 43 years service.Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Cindy Portwood, of Norman, Okla., Tim and Patrina Portwood, of Chattanooga; and four grandchildren: Megan, Kayla, Haylie and Matthew.Services will be held at noon Tuesday May 3, 2011, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Wilson officiating.Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.The family will receive friends from 5-8 Monday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
