Lonnie Lockert

Jr.Lonnie Lockert Jr., 75, of Chattanooga, a loving husband, father and grandfather was called to come home to his Heavenly father on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011. He died peacefully with his wife and family by his side.Lonnie was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ and was born in Savannah, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie V. Lockert Sr. and Geneva Collier Lockert.Lonnie was a plumbing inspector for Hamilton County for 38 years and never met a stranger. He was loved and respected by many and brought joy and laughter to those who knew him.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Lockert; daughter, Tillie (Lyle) Merritt; sons, Ben and Jason (Annetta) Lockert; six grandchildren, Will and Nikki Ellis, and Jake, Lauren, Ethan and Brenna Lockert; sisters, Mary DiSalvo, of Detroit, Mich., and Peggy Offen, of Austin, Texas; and nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at East Ridge Church of Christ, 951 McBrien Road, East Ridge, TN 37412 with Minister Charles Cochran officiating.Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Hixson.Please share your condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
