Horace Wilbanks

LaFAYETTE Horace W. Wilbanks, 71, of passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born to the late Jessie and Geneva Reeves Wilbanks on March 5, 1941 in Stevenson, Ala. Horace has lived in the North Ga. area since 1962, was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church where he was a member of the Center Grove Brotherhood and the Men's Sunday School Class. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting antique cars and was the owner/operator of Wilbanks Wrecker Mounting for many years. He was also preceded in death by his Sisters, Beatrice and Ruth Freeman and Geneva Wilbanks; Brothers, David and Jimmy Wilbanks.Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry Elaine Batts Wilbanks, of Rock Spring; daughters, Roxanne (Chris) Hughes, of Calhoun, Julie (Steve) Gummere of Calhoun, Erin Champion, of Rock Spring; son, Derek (Lindsey) Wilbanks, of LaFayette; sisters, Betty (Mike) Hollingsworth, of Nashville, Tenn., Gladys (Lee) Frazier of Ala., Judy (Wallace) Meeks of LaFayette, Linda England, of Calhoun; brothers, Charles (Sabra) Wilbanks, of Gallatin, Tenn., Glenn (Sandra) Wilbanks, of Gaylesville, Ala., Kenneth (Wanda) Wilbanks, of LaFayette; 13 Grandchildren, Erica, Seth, Mallory, Kelsey, Ashley, Amanda, Ryan, Blair, Lance, Erica, Brittain, Landon, Hudson; and 16 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Hulsey and Reverend J.B. Jones officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by the LaFayette Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes, LaFayette.
