Alma Conner

Alma Conner, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012.She was a beloved mother and grandmother to all of her family. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she was a member of the Lupton Drive Baptist Church and was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman.She was the daughter of the late Vincent and Bethene Vandergriff. She was the wife of the late Jack Conner and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Isabell Mayberry, Edna Bolen and Cleo Lewis; two brothers, Edgar Vandergriff and Edwin Vandergriff.She will be sorely missed by her three surviving daughters, Juanell Rice, Hixson, Jackie Tilley and Onita Stiles, both of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Leah (Ken) Morrison, Jason (Candice) Tilley, Tracy (Amanda) Rice, April (Jeff) Shaffer, Zack (Michelle) Stiles and Allison (Josh) Wood; nine great-grandchildren, Conner and Sarah Stiles, Amon and Davey Rice, Kenley Morrison, Savannah and Harrison Tilley, Cohen Wood and Greylan Shaffer; two sisters, Juanita Varner, Hixson and Ardelia Potter, Ringgold, Ga,; several nieces and nephews and her best friend and neighbor, Nancy Ables.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Lupton Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bell and the Rev.
