Hal Biggs

Aubrey Harold "Hal" Biggs passed away at a local rehabilitation facility on Thursday, April 26, 2012, four days after celebrating his 86th birthday.Hal was born in Poughkeepsie, Ark., served in the Navy during World War II, was a very successful sales and marketing executive in the carpet industry and travelled internationally for most of his professional life. Hal is a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church. He developed Bonnie Oaks Self-Storage after retirement and became a Realtor alongside his wife. He was an avid bridge player, a fan of UTC Mocs basketball and the Atlanta Braves, as well as a regular customer at the Huddle House and Waffle House. His greatest pleasures in life were jazz music, family camping trips, hiking adventures, reunions at the beach and holiday gatherings with his blended family.Hal was preceded in death by his parents; and his granddaughter, Abigail Biggs.Survivors include his wife, Marcia, of Chattanooga; children, Christopher (Nancy) Biggs, of Fort Worth, Texas; Holly (Jeff) Kaufman, of Clarksville, Md., Kathleen (Jeff) Rose, of Chattanooga; Barbara (Bill) Bowen, of Chattanooga, Daniel (Janet) Herron, of Mooresville, Ind., and John (Denise) Herron, of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ian, Kelly, Kevin, AJ, George, Logan, Laura, Sarah and Angela; and several great-grandchildren.The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. today, April 29, at Rivermont Presbyterian Church.The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30, at Rivermont Presbyterian and officiated by Mrs. Diane Stocker CRE, associate pastor.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rivermont Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaNorthChapel.com.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
