CHICKAMAUGA Katie Clark "Momma Katie", 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at a local hospital. She was a native of Lafayette and was a lifelong resident of North Georgia. She was a member of the Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga and had worked for many years in Fort Oglethorpe at the Pizza Inn before becoming a caregiver. Her passions in life were her family, gardening, farming, and helping others. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Wayne Heavenridge and G.D. Clark; sons, Gurney Clark, Jr. and Lewis Clark; parents, Lewis and Cleo Puryear; sister, Mary Puryear; and brother, Joe Puryear.Survivors include her children, Raymond Clark Heavenridge, of Chickamauga, Kathy Holt, of Rossville, and Cleo Light, of Rossville; brothers and sisters, Ed Puryear, of Chickamauga, Helen Kilgore, of Lafayette, Bessie Filyaw, of Ringgold, and Danny Puryear, of Ringgold; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held Monday Aug. 13, at noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Luke Camlic officiating.Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.The family will receive friends today from 4-9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
