Sam Skipper

Samuel Jefferson Skipper, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012.He was a native of Chattanooga and a member of First Baptist Church, Golden Gateway.Mr. Skipper was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific in World War II. He was the owner of Ortmeier Machinery Co. in Chattanooga for some 40 years.Survivors include his wife, Virginia Skipper; daughter, Sherri (Mike) Cofer; sons, Jeff (Beckie), and John (Ronda) Skipper; grandchildren, Garrett, Chazlyn, Josh and Jonathan Skipper.A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, Aug. 22, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.The visitation will be private.Please share your thoughts and condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
