Edna Nabors

Edna Knight Nabors, 93, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at her home in Vonore, Tenn. Born in McMinnville. Edna had been a long-time resident of the Chattanooga area. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Hixson (now known as The Gathering).She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lillard Nabors; four brothers, Herbert, Grady, Haskel and Estell Knight; three sisters, Junie Knight, Pauline Youngblood and Elsie Cantrell, all of McMinnville.Survivors include her children, Bernice (Jerry) Parker, of Vonore and James L. (Kay) Nabors, of Hixson; grandchildren, Kerry Parker Celestini, of Raleigh, N.C., Jason Ladd (Krista) Parker, of Farragut, Tenn.; two step-grandchildren, Greg (Angie) Smith, of Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., and Sonja (Rodney) McCurdy of Sylvania, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Victoria Celestini, John Celestini, Madison Parker and Jordan Parker, seven step-great-grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Megan Smith, Tyler McCurdy, Aaron McCurdy, Tristan Martin, Zacharia Martin and Benjamin Martin and a host of nieces and nephews, Great and great-great nieces and nephews and many special friends.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the North Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at North Chapel with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating; burial to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
