BIRCHWOOD Carolyn "Big Mama" Capehart, 95, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 in a Cleveland healthcare facility.A resident of Birchwood since 1959, she was formerly from East Chattanooga. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Birchwood. Mrs. Capehart was involved in Birchwood Senior Neighbors and enjoyed needle point and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester "Coffee" Capehart; and her parents, William Sutton and Gussie Sutton Cunningham.Survivors include her three children, Charlotte Bischoff and husband, Jeff, of Birchwood, Jim Capehart, of Cleveland, and Lewis Capehart and wife, Bobbie, of Cleveland; six grandchildren, David Capehart and wife, Cindy of Chattanooga, Janet Bischoff, of Birchwood, Maryanita Capehart, of Trenton, Ga., Aleasha Verhaag, of Virginia Beach, Va., Vann Bischoff and wife, Amanda, of Frisco, TX, and Tyson Capehart, of Cleveland.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor David Delmotte and Pastor Gary Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in East Chattanooga. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.The family suggests that memorials may be made to Gideon International P.O.
