Joseph Brandon

Joseph M. Brandon, 82, formally of Chattanooga, passed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 in Columbus, Oh., at home with his family at his side.He was born to Herschel and Estella Dixson Brandon, who preceded him in death.He attended high school at Washington High School and attended Central State University in Dayton, Oh. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Joe made Chattanooga his home for many years upon his discharge from the Air Force.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Brandon, Columbus, Oh.; his children, Wilbert (Tillecia) McClure, and James Loyd Brandon, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Clara (Ronald) Brandon Edwards, of Ringgold, Ga., Maxine Fredricks, of Youngtown, Oh., Erika Jones, Virginia, Evonda, and Latonya Howard, all of Columbus, Oh., and Loretta (Michael) Clark, of Charleston, W. Va.; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; brother, James Beatty, of Columbus, Oh.; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be conducted in Columbus, Oh., on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013.Arrangements are being handled by Caliman and Sons Funeral Home.Announced as a courtesy by Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, Franklin-Strickland-Pinkard-Bryan-Smith Funeral Directors.
