BRIDGEPORT Richard C. "R.C." Henshaw, 96, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012, at his residence.Mr. Henshaw is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 66 years, Annie Kate Henshaw; daughters, Betty (Chester) Tate, of Jasper, Tenn., Brenda (Don) Cunningham and Sheila Kennamer, all of Bridgeport; son, Lester (Lavonne) Henshaw, of Bryant, Ala.; sister, Katherine Roberts, of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas and Fannie Elizabeth Cooper Henshaw; brothers, Soloman Henshaw, Stanley Henshaw, Lafollette Henshaw and Henry Henshaw; sister, Edith Barton.He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran. Richard was retired from TVA Widows Creek. He was a member of DAV and Calvary Baptist Church of South Pittsburg, Tenn.Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. CDT today at Rudder Funeral Home in Bridgeport.The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. CDTWednesday, July 4, at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Richard Goss and Alacare Hospice Chaplain Neal Smith.Interment and Military Honors will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper Tenn. www.rudderfuneralhomes.com.
