BAKEWELL Estes "Bunt" Smith, 76, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Estes was a man with great pride and integrity with a giving heart. He enjoyed a long and successful career at Stein's Construction in Chattanooga for over fifty years. Estes was the foundation of a family that loves and admires him and will truly miss his amazing spirit. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Margirene Smith; children, Estes Franklin "Frank" Smith, Kathy Bode, Carol and Roger Rucker, Robert (Mickey) Smith, Robin and Mark Williams; former daughter-in-law, Pamela Kellogg; grandchildren, Crystal and Brad Nelson, Jeremy Smith, Cody and Sharon Rucker, Josh and Ashley Smith, Ashley and Anthony Brinkle, David Prince, Zack Williams, and Benji Williams; great-grandchildren, Skylar Nelson, Bryson Rucker, Liam Rucker and Bradley Smith; sisters, Lizzie and Arcola Lasley and Anna Sue Martin.Estes was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Higgins.The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 6, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with friend Greg Trantham officiating. Burial will follow in Bakewell Mountain Community Cemetery.
