Mayme Elizabeth Smelser-Reed, of East Ridge, passed away at home Saturday, July 14, 2012.She was born to her parents on Dec. 22, 1969 in Germany while her father served in the United States Army.She was preceded in death by her father, George "Stinky" Smelser; maternal grandparents, Al and Sandy Foster; and paternal grandparents, William C. Smelser and Marie Smelser Beam.Mayme is survived by her beloved children, Sandra Reed, Jennifer Reed, and Matthew Reed; husband, Frank Reed (separated); mother, Christine Smelser; brothers, Roger Smelser and William (Michelle) Smelser; and many family members and friends who loved her dearly. She will be so deeply missed which cannot be described by words. Mayme loved life and people, but she dealt with extremely serious health problems the last few years of her life and at the age of 42, she has been relieved of her burden by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her Christian faith has been nurtured by family, friends, and East Ridge United Methodist Church. As Mayme has left this physical earth, she would want all of us to move forward in peace and love.Funeral services for Mayme will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the East Chapel with Rev.
