Rubie Martin

Rubie Cate Dilbeck Martin, 98, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2012, in Stockbridge, Ga.She was a J.C. Penney retiree and active in the East Lake community as a member of the East Lake Senior Citizens, the East Lake Neighborhood Council, East Lake Garden Club, and the Cardinal Garden Club. She was a faithful member of East Lake Baptist Church and later East Ridge Baptist Church after their merger.Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Martin; her parents, Lyde and Maude Dilbeck; and her brothers George Dilbeck and W.J. Dilbeck.She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Dan) Hylkema, of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren, Danette (Sean) Patrick and Derek (Mary Kay) Hylkema; great-grandchildren, Emerson Patrick, Madelyn Patrick, Dakota Hylkema and Allison Hylkema.A Remembrance of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Calhoun First Baptist Church, Calhoun, Tenn., with burial following in the church cemetery.Grandson-in-law, Rev.
