Betty Langlitz

Betty Jones Langlitz went home to be with our Lord on June 27, 2012, while at St. Barnabas Rehab Center.Born on June 8, 1931 in Chattanooga, she lived there with her family until she was eight years old, the family then moved to High Point, N.C. She attended and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1949, she also attend Bryce Business College in High Point and Guilford Community College. She married Charlie Jones of High Point in 1952. Her love of travel led her to becoming a travel agent in the 70s. Betty and her husband Charlie Jones moved to Port Orange, Fla., in 1985 and they continued to travel until she retired in 1996.She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jones in 1997; and son, Randy Jones in 2003.Betty moved back to Chattanooga in 2007 due to health reasons. She resided at both East Ridge Retirement Center and Southern Heritage Assisted Living.She is survived by her daughter, Joye and son-in-law, Bob DeYoung, of Rising Fawn, Ga. Betty was blessed with one granddaughter, Emily DeYoung Esparza, her husband, Francisco Esparza; and one great-granddaughter, Sofia Gabriella Esparza, all who live in California.Anyone who knew Betty loved her, her calming and loving spirit made her an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. Her family and friends will miss the Mom, Mimi, friend and woman that we all knew.
