Myrtle Washpon

Myrtle Lee Washpon, 84, went to home to be with the Lord May 26, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born February 18, 1928 in Chattanooga, Tenn. to the late Walter and Matilda Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Washpon, Sr.; daughter, Lil Geneva; 3 sons, Thomas Harris, Michael and Washpon; granddaughter, Kimberly Washpon; and great granddaughter, SaMora D. Lingo. Mother Washpon will be remembered for her loving and gentle spirit.Left to cherish her memories are sons, Claude Jr. (Debra), Lamar and Anthony; daughter, Marilyn Thompson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.Graveside Service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery Tuesday, June 5, at 1:30 p.m. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
