Charles Lowrance

CHICKAMAUGA Charles Franklin "John" Lowrance, 79, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012.He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was of the Baptist faith. John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a truck driver for over 42 years before retiring in 2008 from TLI Transport. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.John was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert and Lillie May Sweet Lowrance; sons, Billy Ray Lowrance and John Allen Lowrance; siblings, Beth, Bobby, Clifford, Dewey, William, Danny and Jackie.He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Frances Marie Lowrance; children, Charles D. (Kathy) Lowrance, of Cohutta, Jimmy Lowrance, of Rossville, Patty (David) Ligon, of Rock Spring, Eddie (Shasta) Lowrance, of Rossville, and Sandy (Mike) Cooper, of Rossville; foster children, Hayden Highfield and Noah McMurray; siblings, Patsy, Dennis, and Don all of Rossvile; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Sam Barrett officiating.Interment will follow at Chickamauga City Cemetery.The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. today and prior to the service on Saturday.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
