Mildred Abercrombie

Mildred Virginia Abercrombie, 98, of Chattanooga, died Sunday, May 13, 2012.She was born July 15, 1913, in Cedartown, Ga., to John Alton and Electa Frances Fields. They moved to Chattanooga in 1915. She was employed by J.C. Penney Co., for 13 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. "Bud" Abercrombie; daughter, Joan OGuin; sisters, Forrest Houts, Frances Wright, Betty McDaris; brothers, John W. Fields, Alton Fields and Wilburn Fields.Survivors include grandchildren, Robert H. "Buddy" OGuin Jr. (Angela) and Leesa (David) Jennings; 10 great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Thomas) Hash, Ryan (Shannon) OGuin, Lindsay Helton (Butch Ownby), Mary Katherine OGuin, McGavock OGuin, Corey Hash, Savanna Hash, Cassidy Hash, Steven Nichols and Jadah Ownby; two great-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Helton and Caleb Ownby; sister, Minnielu Jackson.Mrs. Abercrombies family would like to thank Linda Williams for her devoted and loving care that has made her part of the family.Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Forest Hills Cemetery with the Rev.
