Gwendolyn "Mama G" Roberson, 70, departed this life on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012.She was born on July 10, 1942.She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille English and father, Augusta Spence; and husband, Charles Ezra Roberson; four uncles, Jack and Thomas Sutton, Royce Kilgore and Moses Hines.She leaves to cherish her precious memories daughter, Debra (Harold) Freeman; son, Derrick (LaTonya) Roberson; two grandsons, Shaqualm McCoy and Derrick L. Roberson Jr.; stepfather, James English; half sisters, Gladys (Jimmy) Sharpley, Phyllis Spence, Ernestine (Ray) Parker, of Prattville, Ala.; two half-brothers, Augusta Spence Jr. and Gregory (Felicia) Spence; a dear friend, Lola Gibbs; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Highland Cemetery with the Rev. James Penney officiating.The family will receive friends from 57 p.m. today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodd Ave., 622-9995.
