Philip Davison

NEWNAN Philip Davison, 59, formerly of Jasper, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.Philip graduated from Marion County High School in 1971 and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1978. He coached at Whitwell High School in Whitwell, Tenn., from 1979-1982 and also at Newnan, East Coweta, and Gordon Central High Schools in Georgia.Mr. Davison was preceded in death by his father, Jesse L. Davison.Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 32 years, Marva Davison, of Newnan; two sons, Ryan (Molly) Davison, of Douglasville, Ga., Chris (Lea) Davison, of Alpharetta, Ga.; mother, Lucille Davison, of Calhoun, Ga.; brother, Mark (Janice) Davison, of Calhoun, Ga.; and special dog, Abby.Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. CDT today, Nov. 3, 2012.Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Father Mark Schultz officiating.Interment to follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.Arrangements by Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home 423-658-7777.
