Lillian Hawes

Lillian May Hess Hawes, 85, of Hixson, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in a local health care facility.She was born July 25, 1927 in Norwalk, Conn., to the late Dorothy Amy and Jacob August Hess.Mrs. Hawes was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church. She was a former manager for Domestics at Hills Department Store for 10 years.Her husband G.W. Hawes Sr.; and sister, Helen preceded her in death.Survivors include her children, G. W. (Colleen) Hawes Jr. of Soddy-Daisy, Carol (Leonard Sr.) LaForest, of Hixson, Jacob Hawes, of Hixson, Jeffrey (Cathy) Hawes, of Hixson and Dawn (Rick) Smith, of Soddy-Daisy; seven siblings, Barbara, William, Emily, Tom, Alfred, Sandra and Faith; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Albans Episcopal Church with Rev.
