Audrey Cheney

Audrey Carney Cheney of Gainesville, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Shands Hospital. She was 38 years old. Audrey grew up and attended schools in Gainesville, including the University of Florida. She was an avid reader, always having several books "in progress". She also enjoyed dance, theater and was a past volunteer at the Florida State Museum of Natural History. Audrey spent her entire life learning, and her passion was learning about people. Audrey will be most remembered for her ability to engage in conversation with anyone! She knew no stranger, and found her way into the hearts of all she met. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.Audrey was preceded in death by her father, Jim Carney, of Chattanooga; grandparents, Pope Cheney and Ann Cheney, of Gainesville and Don and Marge Carney, of Gainesville. She was also preceded in death by nephew, Andrew LaBrosse, of Chattanooga.Audrey is survived by her husband, Mark Underberger and his children, Max and Monique Underberger, of Gainesville. She is also survived by mother, Patricia Carney Stephens, of Trenton Ga.; and brothers and sisters, Anna Carney McCullough, of Trenton, Rachel Carney LaBrosse (Chris), of Chattanooga, Rebekah Carney Stoglin (Matt), of Trenton, Marybeth Carney-Holbrook (Michael), of Chattanooga, Michael Carney, of Trenton and Sean Carney (Amber) of Fort Oglethorpe Ga. Audrey also leaves nieces and nephews, Bobby McCullough, Benjamin LaBrosse, Zoe LaBrosse, Gabby LaBrosse, Damien Stoglin, Rilee Privette, Charlee Stoglin, James Carney, Jacob Holbrook and Tayleigh Carney. Audrey is also survived by soon to be born niece baby girl, Holbrook, expected at any time. Audrey is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins, including her special aunt, Priscilla Cheney, of Anaheim, Calif.Services will be held at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Trenton, Ga., at a later date.In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Florida State Museum of Natural History or the Alachua County Humane Society,
