John Holsomback

RINGGOLD John "Al" Alton Holsomback, 92, passed away Friday Oct. 5, 2012 at his residence. A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, he was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during W.W. II, former owner and operator of White Oak Wood Works and a member of Ringgold First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover Cline and Bertha Lou Pettit Holsomback; brother, Gaston Holsomback and two sisters, Ruth Worley and Jean Davis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gladys Chapman Holsomback, of Ringgold, Ga.; daughter, Donna (Randy) Cochran, of Ringgold, Ga.; son, Mike (Connie) Holsomback, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; four grandchildren, Reagan Cochran, Brynn Boran, Will Cochran and Jonathan Shattuck, great grandson, Matthew Shattuck; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Anderson Memorial Gardens.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
