Phyllis Scott

RINGGOLD Phyllis Scott, 53, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her residence.She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church. Phyllis was a 1976 graduate of Rossville High School where she was a Majorette with the Rossville Band. She continued her education at UTC where she graduated with a bachelors degree in nursing. In 2010 she graduated from UTC receiving a masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner. She was currently employed with Erlanger Medical Center with 26 years of service. Phyllis loved her job and the people she nursed on a daily basis. This was her life and she touched many lives in a special way. Her passions in life were her nephews, her dog, Tebow, and she was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Earl and Lucille Campbell; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Edna Scott.Survivors include her parents, Howell "Pete" and Montine Scott, of Rossville; brother and sister-in-law, DeWayne and Tammy Scott, of Ringgold; three nephews, Dylan, Noah, and Stephen Scott, all of Ringgold; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Jim Bennett officiating.Interment will be held at a later date at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.The family will receive friends from noon Thursday until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
