Lennie Blevins

Lennie Blevins, 78, a lifelong resident of Red Bank, her hard fought battle with Alzheimers ended Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012.Lennie was a founding member of Stuart Heights Baptist church and was currently a member of Lyndon Avenue Baptist Church. Lennie loved to cook, she was a wonderful hostess, seamstress and was very involved while her children were in school.Survivors include her husband, Alvin Blevins; daughter, Linda (Russell) Thornbury, of Kathleen, Ga.; son, Tim (Dava) Blevins, of Red Bank; four grandchildren, Zachary (Mandi) Thornbury, of Brookline, Mass., Brianna Thornbury, of Kathleen, Sam Blevins and Cale Blevins, both of Red Bank; one great-grandchild, Elijah Thornbury; sisters, Sadie "Kizy" Ellis and Bertha (John) Calbough, all of Decatur, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank all the special angels who helped care for Lennie on her journey.Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the PACE Program at Alexian Brothers, 425 Cumberland Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404.Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace with Minister Charles Cochran officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences.Visitation is noon-2:20 p.m. today at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 423-877-3524.
