Harold Cofer

OAK RIDGE Harold DeWillis Cofer, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at NHC Health Care Center.He was born May 24, 1927 in Chattanooga, the son of Tincie Murphy Cofer and Paul W. Cofer Sr.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Harriet Hawkins Cofer; son, Keith E. Cofer and wife Kim of Karns; daughters, Nancy C. Witick and husband, Ken and Susan Mullins Scrimsher, all of Oak Ridge and Faye McCullough and husband, Tom, of Chattanooga; brothers, Paul W. Cofer Jr., of Knoxville and Marvin A. Cofer, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-Grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Highland View Church of Christ.The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the church with Curtis McClane and Ray Smith officiating.The interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy Honor Guard.An on-line guest book can be signed at www.weatherfordmortuary.com.Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
