Jean Ballard

Jean Mae Snyder Ballard, 81, died on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at her residence.She was born in Chattanooga, to the late Wed E. Snyder and Joyce Benton Snyder.Mrs. Ballard was a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church. She retired in 1985, having worked as a Data Entry Operator at Data Logic Inc., Combustion Engineering and Blue Cross-Blue Shield.She was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers, Nelson Snyder and Charles Snyder; three sisters, Dorothy Hamilton, Barbara Smith and Shirley Kilgore.Survived by loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Ballard, of East Ridge; four daughters, Melissa L. Ballard Grant, of Ooltewah, Tenn., Karen E. Ballard Ford, of Hixson, Susan C. Ballard Crabtree, of Chattanooga and Barbara Jean Ballard Snodgrass, of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jo Ann Harrigan of Wellington, Fla.; and wonderful caregiver, Inez L. Kent.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Sept. 14, at the funeral home.A Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. today, at the funeral home with Rev. John Mattox officiating.
