Louis Chislom

, Jr.Louis Chislom, Jr., 58, departed this life on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. He was born June 30, 1954 in Chattanooga, Tenn. to the late Louis Chislom, Sr. and Mrs. Deloria A. Chislom Westfield. Louis accepted Christ at a young age at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. His membership was currently at the Church of the Highlands (formerly Highland Park Missionary Baptist Church). He graduated from Kirkman technical High School. He was the program manager and art director for station WDSI. Louis also did commercial art for Clark Brother Furniture and was a cartoonist for the North Star newspaper. He was formerly employed by Chattanooga City Schools System and Orange Grove Center.He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph (Della) Akins; youngest brother, James Westfield; and step-father, Rev. Francis A. Westfield, Sr.He is survived by a loving mother, Deloria A. Westfield; three sisters, Valerie Akins-Jennings, Elizabeth Chislom Freeman, Della Chislom (Kenneth) Harden; five brothers, Ernest Chislom, Mattapan, MA; Rev. Tyrus L. (Betty) Chislom, Sr., Ralph J. Chislom, Glenn L. Chislom and Francis A. Westfield, Jr.; two aunts, Mozell S. Thaxton and Mary E. Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, April 2, in the John P. Franklin Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Roberts, the Rev. Tyrus L. Chislom, Sr. and other ministers officiating. The body will lie in state after Noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
