Victoria "Vickie" Smith Bond, 61, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, in Jacksonville, Fla.She was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School and a celebrated track athlete during her high school years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Bond; grandfather, Grady Palmer; uncle, Ernest Palmer; aunts, Julia Green and Louise Palmer; grandchildren, Ceddreona and Diamonte McAllum; brother, Morris "Oogie" Smith.Left to cherish her memories include three devoted daughters, Della (Quintin) Edwards, Jacksonville, Fla., Rena Jamison, Clinton, Miss., Rachel (Lawrence) Waters, Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; mother, Bertha P. Smith; siblings, Norman Smith, Gloria (Larry) Robinson, of Chattanooga; Minister Raymond (Beverly) Smith, of Huntsville, Ala., Minister Calvin (Dornita) Smith, of Norfolk, Va.; sister-in-law, Jeanetta Smith; a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, April 12, 2013, in the chapel with the Rev. Paul Montgomery officiating.Interment in Highland Memorial Gardens.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
