Joanne Touchstone

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. Joanne Kay Touchstone, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 21, 2013, surrounded by her two daughters and sons-in-law.Joanne was born on Feb. 22, 1945 in Belleville, Ill. to Charles and Lillian Johnson. She moved to Missouri in 1991 and to the Independence area in 2007. She worked as a bus driver for the city of St. Louis Metro Bus System for several years before her retirement. She attended Englewood Church in Independence, Mo.Joanne will be remembered for her cookies and cupcakes, as she loved to bake. She was also a giver; always giving whatever she could to help others.Survivors include daughter, Michelle Rockholt and husband, Rocky and their children, Brittany Rhoades, and Haley Rockholt, all of Tennessee; daughter, Amber Miller and husband, Marcus and their children, Logan and Landen Miller, all of Independence, Mo.; and her granddog, Cody Edward Rockholt.Visitation will be today, April 23, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at New Salem Funeral Home.
