Lyda Tinker

WALKER COUNTY Lyda Pearl West Tinker, 65, departed this life Wednesday, April 24, 2013. She was born in Ringgold, Ga., to the late James Carney and Alma West. Lyda retired from the Walker County School System after 27 years of service as a school bus driver and was of the Christian faith.She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mamie Magdalene Simpson.Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, William Kendrick Tinker Jr., of Bridgeport; children, Sheila (John) Henley, Wanda (Melissa) Tinker, Regina (Randy) Gann, all of Menlo, Ga., William Kendrick (Rebekah) Tinker III, of Old Fort, Tenn.; sister, Bertha Sue Knox of Florida; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, in the funeral home chapel.Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.Family will receive friends all day today and all day Sunday at the funeral home.Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
