Angela Beckham

NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio Angela Patricia Montell Beckham, 82, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at Genesis Healthcare of New Lexington.Pat was born Sept. 11, 1930 in Shawnee, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Marguerite Skinner Montell.She was raised in Somerset, working as a teenager for her parents at Montells Confectionary, and graduating from Holy Trinity School. She attended the College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University) and later, Auburn University at Montgomery. She married Robert David Beckham on April 7, 1951, at the rectory of Holy Trinity Church in Somerset. Pat and Bob raised their children in Newark, Ohio (where she taught school at St. Francis de Sales Elementary School), and in Chattanooga. They also lived in Montgomery, Ala.; Cleveland and Somerset, Ohio. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.Pat is survived by a son, Steve (Connie) Beckham, of Chattanooga; a daughter, Carolyn (Steve) Siemer, of Moxahala; a sister, Marguerite "Goog" (Roger) Nash, of New Lexington; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beckham; a daughter, Marguerite Elizabeth Martin; and a brother, George Robert Montell.Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where a prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Somerset with Father James Csaszar and Father Stephen Carmody as celebrants.Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose or Holy Trinity Catholic Schools.www.bopethomasfuneralhome.com.
