Judy Wortman

Judy Ellis Wortman, 71, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in Springville, Ala., after a brief illness.Judy "Bird", as she was affectionately known by many friends and family, was born in Rossville. She lived the majority of her life in the surrounding North Georgia area raising her family. She spent her retirement years experiencing different areas of the South with her husband, Bob Wortman, from Long Boat Key, Fla., to Fairhope, Ala., and many stops in between. Making many friends and memories, sharing her love and serving the Lord along the way.Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Mayor Paul and Lucile Ellis; her sister, Jeanne Ellis Carter.Surviving family husband, Bob Wortman; sons, Greg Walker, Tony (Jennifer) Walker; brother, David "Bo" (Nancy) Ellis; grandchildren Jake Walker and Kayla Walker; and many nieces and nephews.Special thanks to her church family at Solid Rock Lutheran Church, where she worshiped and served her Lord Jesus Christ.A Memorial Service celebrating Judy Birds life will be at 11 a.m. CDT Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Solid Rock Lutheran Church.
