Saul Mallen

Saul " TWOM" Mallen passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 in Atlanta, Ga.Saul was born in Dec. of 1914 in Boston, MA. to Joseph and Ida Seltzer Mallen, after marrying Muriel Goldberg in 1939 they resided in Philadelphia, PA., and in Oct. 1940 moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., were they raised their family. Saul was a member of the Bar Association and was admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of The United States; he was the President of Sportswear Mills for over 40 years and served on several boards of directors for non-profit and profitable organizations.Saul was a member of Mizpah Congregation Temple for over 40 years in Chattanooga, Tenn., and The Temple in Atlanta, Ga.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years Muriel Goldberg Mallen; his son Steven Lawrence Mallen; parents, brother Charles Mallen; and sister Dorothy Mallen Selby. Survivors include his sons Ted Mallen and Peter Mallen; daughter-in-laws Janie Mallen and Carolyn Mallen; Grandsons, Richard, Brian, Jonathan, Matthew, Michael and David; Granddaughters, Stephanie, Amanda; Great-grandchildren, Sophie, Sammy, Stephen, Lindsey; Great-Great-grandchild, Elise Michelle; special friend Elinor Breman.Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Mizpah Cemetery with Rabbi Bill Tepper officiating.The family will receive friends in the home of Peter Mallen on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m.Arrangements have been entrusted to Advantage Funeral Cremation Services Franklin Strickland Pinkard Bryan Smith Services. 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 423-266-2131.
