Emmett Seaborn

Emmett Ray Seaborn, 87, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013, at his home. Emmett worked for Southern Railroad and Norfolk Southern Railroad for 38 years in the Freight Claims Division. He was a member of the Cleveland Lodge #134 F&AM. Emmett was a member of First Baptist Church Golden Gateway and the Seekers Sunday School Class. Emmett was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Pearl Seaborn; brothers, Doyle, Thomas and James Seaborn. Emmett is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Seaborn; daughter, Teresa (Charles) Groves III; grandchildren Cynthia, Christina and Charles Groves IV. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. today, Dec. 1, and from Noon-2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Dale Huff and Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. Interment will follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church Golden Gateway, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37402.
